This report summarises the results of Safety Priority Services (SPS) (2022–2024), focusing on the scale-up of in-car warning services and the distance travelled with these services active. The corresponding Deliverable was completed on 31 December 2025.
SPS expanded nationwide coverage and partner implementation, increasing the number of vehicle kilometres driven with SPS services: +23% in 2023 and a further +9% in 2024, totalling +34% compared to 2022 levels. This corresponds to coverage of more than one in five vehicle kilometres on the Dutch road network. In parallel, user feedback and measured behaviour support the effectiveness of key warnings (e.g., Traffic Jam Ahead and Emergency Vehicle Approaching), while data improvements via the NDW backbone enabled faster and more targeted safety notifications. Monthly reports on distance travelled with in-car warning systems are available in digital form in Dutch (not publicly accessible). The main findings are summarised in this English report.
