MERIDIAN showcased among European initiatives supporting multimodal innovation

On 1 July 2026, representatives of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea attended the AUTOSUP & CROSSFREIGHT Joint Event in Trieste, an international conference dedicated to innovation, automation and digital transformation in multimodal freight transport.

As part of the keynote session on European perspectives for sustainable and digital freight, the Authority presented MERIDIAN alongside other flagship European projects currently being implemented.

The conference gathered experts from European institutions, ports, technology platforms and research organisations to discuss common challenges in digitalisation, automation and interoperability. Particular attention was devoted to cooperation among projects, with the aim of capitalising on existing results rather than developing isolated solutions.

For MERIDIAN, the event represented an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation with other European initiatives working on multimodal freight transport and to promote the exchange of knowledge on innovative solutions supporting more efficient and sustainable logistics corridors.
