The user Manual is intended to be a functional guide to the use of the “Centrale Operativa” (hereinafter C.O.) software created for Concessioni Autostradali Venete (hereinafter CAV).

The new Platform, created as part of the complex program of digitalization and innovation of management systems launched by CAV, has the function of supporting the activities of the Operations Center, allowing constant monitoring of the services and infrastructures under management, as well as the control and dissemination of information on traffic.

The main objectives of the platform are:

• acquisition of measurements, monitoring and estimation of traffic on the reference network;
• analysis of traffic congestion/anomalies on the controlled network;
• development of control strategies to achieve the balance between supply and demand, on the observed network;
• collection and re-elaboration of data relating to the state of the network;
• uniformity and coherence of the information to be published;
• management of the dissemination of multimedia information to users through variable messages: management of the dissemination of traffic information to and from other operators.

The C.O. Manual has been developed to guide the user in using the various features of the Platform, briefly listed below and described in detail in the following chapters: Maps, VMS, Linearized beltway (A57) stretch management, Events, Activity Log, Alerts and Notifications, Shifts and Availability, Roadside Assistance, Activity management, Communications, Off-line simulator Traffic Control Center Software Platform Components.
